Rockabilly is a freely improvised partner dance danced to quartet music, characterised by a clear base beat in the body. The followers dance includes lots of twisting and the leader’s steps are relatively free. With its unique style, Rockabilly is sure to get your feet moving and your heart pounding!

Rockabilly is easy to dance to, and it’s possible to dance in a small space. There are many styles depending on where in the world it is danced. Rockabilly music is fast-paced 2/4 or 2/2 beat music. The drum comp and the double bass give a characteristic freight train-like rhythm. 

Rockabilly / Jiving was born in the US in the mid-1950s as a party dance and was popular as a subculture. It regained popularity in Europe in the late 1970s and is still going strong.
